Since 1936, when it was founded by Samuel A. Gennet, the lawyers of Gennet, Kallmann, Antin and Robinson (GKAR) have devoted their professional energies to representing insurers and overseas underwriters in property, liability and recovery matters. More than 68 years later, we continue to serve these clients by providing professional, trustworthy, knowledgeable, aggressive and effective legal representation of matters in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and the surrounding jurisdictions.

The firm has a stable core of highly experienced senior partners who have overseen GKAR’s work for more than 25 years. It also has a professional staff who are equipped by education, experience and disposition to expertly handle the firm’s work. The senior partners remain fully active as counselors and litigators while providing input and guidance to the staff. This has helped us assure a high and consistent quality of work, and has allowed the firm to adhere to certain guiding principles.

We strive to provide our clients with sound advice based upon a high level of specialized legal knowledge of insurance law. In doing so, we draw upon substantial experience gained by working closely with senior and field level insurance claims personnel, underwriters, MGAs, TPAs, consultants and industry vendors. We strive to handle a client’s matters individually, effectively and responsively, seeking the earliest and best solution to the problems presented by each case. We also strive to provide the advice our clients need to hear, not what they want to hear. And, we are scrupulous in charging only for services actually performed, using reasonable time increments at competitive rates for the type of services rendered.

A sampling of these decisions may be found in our attorney biographies, which we encourage you to peruse. Members of the firm have recovered over $100 million for firm clients. The partners of the firm have served as lead counsel or on plaintiffs’ committees in large, complex, multi-party litigation.

Continuing education of GKAR lawyers and insurance professionals is another GKAR commitment. All lawyers participate in CLE and insurance industry seminars. GKAR partners also lecture to lawyers and industry groups on insurance topics, and lead small group discussions with insurance claims and underwriting professionals. GKAR has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest “AV” rating, and is also listed in Best’s Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.
